Not only are they all "cursed" but mastery of them are true acts of benevolence. A master of the Blue moon can completely suppress a vampires blood thirst, a master of the Rune of Beginning has the power to bring peace after war, and a master of the Soul Eater can return souls to life rather than just devour them in death.
